On May 22nd 2011 a ferocious multiple vortex tornado ripped through the heart of Joplin Missouri. 161 people died and over 7000 homes and buildings were destroyed.
The spirit of the community of Joplin in their rebuilding efforts, is touching and admirable.
Their story has touched our hearts.
My brother and his wife in January 2012, whiled talking over the dinner table, (the other side of the state from Joplin) suggested the idea of a story that would honour the community and people of Joplin, and their resolve.
After the tornado, several reports traversed the community, in that young children had reported having been saved from death by angelic ‘butterfly’ like beings.
This is Ben’s story. It is a story that reflects how this experience could have been for one of the children.
‘Ben and the Butterfly People’ is for the people of Joplin; the people of the great state of Missouri; and for the spirit of humanity and determination that is shared by people from around our globe.

Aaron's Star Written by Daddy For Mummy
a new book for parents and families that have experienced the loss of a child during term, neo-natal care, or early life-
'Daddy' wrote a story titled ‘Aaron’s Star’ for Aaron’s Mummy in an attempt to make sense of what happened, and explain that Aaron’s life force lives on.
‘Aaron’s Star’ takes the parent on a journey where Aaron shares a poignant message in his song of life that he asks his Mummy to sing in her own life.
‘Aaron’s Star’ is now available.
The story is written and presented in the format of an illustrated children’s story, yet for parents that have experienced loss. The book is written by: Daddy, for Mummy. It could be written by any Daddy for any Mummy that has been through this type of trauma.
The book also has space for a parent to add their child’s name and commit the book to his or her memory.
The objective behind sharing the story through publication is that other parents that struggle with their loss, may find a glimmer of hope or understanding from the song of life that Aaron shares with his Mummy in ‘Aaron’s Star’.
